Bader Wins Jury Trial

Attorney Steven Bader won a defense verdict for an HVAC contractor in a jury trial in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota. The plaintiff alleged the defendant was liable for frozen pipes in a lake cabin caused by a furnace that lost power in winter. The evidence showed the defendant had excluded electrical work from its proposal to install the furnace, it did not perform any electrical work, and factors unrelated to the existing electrical work caused the furnace to lose power and the pipes to freeze. The jury found the defendant was not negligent, did not breach its contract, did not breach any warranties, and it awarded the plaintiff $0 in damages.
