Matthew primarily handles appeals and complex litigation matters. Matthew has been a dedicated member of Rajkowski Hansmeier since graduating law school. Having spent his entire career with a general practice firm made up of some of the region’s top litigation attorneys, Matthew has gained valuable experience in his handling of a wide variety of appeals. His appellate experience includes everything from dog bites, to contractual disputes, to assumption of the risk, to state and federal organic farming regulations, and beyond. He has successfully briefed and argued numerous cases to Minnesota’s appellate courts, including to the Minnesota Supreme Court. In addition, Matthew has recently been admitted to practice in North Dakota. Matthew also has experience with submissions to the United States Supreme Court in the Petition for Writ of Certiorari stage.
Matthew’s complex litigation and motion writing practice has provided him with valuable and diverse experience as well. The types of cases Matthew handles include the following, among others:
• Residential and commercial construction defects;
• Insurance coverage;
• Products liability;
• Pesticide drift;
• Farming injuries/accidents;
• Dairy farming equipment defects and stray voltage; and
• Complex, multi-party personal injury cases.
With his firm’s strategic Saint Cloud location, Matthew benefits from having his litigation experience nearly equally split between cases venued in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and those in out-state areas.
Matthew is also a member of several different legal organizations. In 2013, Matthew was elected by the members of his local Stearns-Benton Bar Association to serve as their Treasurer/Secretary. He will then serve subsequent one-year terms as vice president and president of that organization. Additionally, Matthew is a member of the Minnesota Defense Lawyer’s Association and the construction law section of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Away from the office, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, swimming, canoeing, traveling, reading, and most every type of skiing.
