Victoria grew up in the St. Cloud area and attended Tech High School. She was active in Tech's swimming and speech teams, as well as its drama program. After high school, Victoria attended college at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval History in 2007. Apparently absence really does make the heart grow fonder, as Victoria then returned to her home-state to attend law school at the University of Minnesota. Victoria graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in Business Law in May 2010. She joined Rajkowski Hansmeier in September 2010.
During the summer of 2009, Victoria worked as a law clerk for Hormel Foods Corporation in Austin, Minnesota. While at Hormel Foods, Victoria worked extensively with the contracts team in drafting and negotiating agreements with outside parties. She also gained some experience in real estate law in her work drafting and negotiating leases and easements.
During her final year of law school, Victoria participated in the Multi-Profession Business Law Clinic, wherein she worked with local entrepreneurs and start-up companies in drafting formation documents and business contracts. As part of her work in the clinic, Victoria also assisted companies with matters of employment law and drafting employee handbooks.
As a new associate at Rajkowski Hansmeier, Victoria's areas of practice have expanded to include litigation, insurance defense, criminal prosecution, and estate planning. In particular, she has worked on slip and fall, dog bite, wrongful death, and premises liability cases, as well as a variety of cases involving motor vehicle accidents. She is especially well-versed in dog bite liability and the open and obvious exception to premises liability.
Outside the legal world, Victoria enjoys spending time with her friends and family, weekends at the lake, fishing and camping. Travel is and always will be a passion for Victoria, and she can usually be found planning her next grand adventure. Her personal and professional motto was learned at an early age from her mother, Sandy Johnson: "let's think of a few reasons why it can be done."
